    The event was organized in the presence of Dr. Shibaji Chattopadhyay, Group Chief Operating Officer, Cancer Centers of America, Dr Shruti Kate, Sr. Consultant- Medical Oncology, Dr. Roshan Kumar, Consultant-Radiation Oncology, Dr.PritishJunagade, Consultant Haematologist, Haemato Oncologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician, Dr Ajay Kumar Jadhav, Sr. Consultant – Surgical Oncology,and Dr.Chandrashekhar Pethe, Sr. Consultant -Medical Oncology, at Cancer Centers of America, Nashik.

     

    The estimated number of incident cases of cancer in India for the year 2022 was found to be 14,61,427 (crude rate:100.4 per 100,000). In India, one in nine people are likely to develop cancer in his/her lifetime. Lung and breast cancers were the leading sites of cancer in males and females, respectively. Among the childhood (0-14 yr) cancers, lymphoid leukaemia (boys: 29.2% and girls: 24.2%) was the leading site. The incidence of cancer cases is estimated to increase by 12.8 per cent in 2025 as compared to 2020.

     

    India has seen an increase in the incidence of cancer due to factors such as urbanization, industrialization, lifestyle changes, and population growth. Sadly, more than 70% of these cases are reported in advanced stages, leading to poor survival rates. Accessibility to early diagnosis as well as access to optimal treatment systems is essential for India to improve survival rates.

     

    Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shibaji Chattopadhaya, Group COO, Cancer Centers of America said “We have started this program “Practicon” specifically designed for the General practitioners as they the first point of contact by any patient and if they are aware about the initial symptoms and correct diagnostics tools, it becomes easier to detect the cancer at early stage.  Early detection of cancer is crucial because it significantly improves the chances of successful treatment. When cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, it is often less advanced and hasn’t spread extensively.

    Poonam Sharrma, the creator of Panache Events, organised the Nashik October Pink Run today at 8 o'clock on Sunday jointly with ASHOka CCA and Decathlon Vilholi.


    The month of October is recognised as "Pink Month" in every country to honour cancer survivors and raise awareness of breast cancer.


    This movement's Nashik October Pink Run is a little effort.


    # Together Fight against Cancer was a theme for this Run


    The majority of Nashik's marathon runners took part in this race for 10 kilometres, while commoners ran for five kilometres and all families and first-timers ran for three kilometres.


    The winners of the 10 Km Male category were Dnyaneshwar Balsingh, Goldi, and Anjali Pandit, and the winners of the 10 Km Female category were Ashwini Deore and Goldi.


    The 2nd-place finisher in the 5 Km Male category was Jayesh Patil. Varsha Ekhande, second place winner in the Ms. Diva Universe 2017 Dinkar Like 5 Km Female Competition Shashidharan, Shraddha


    All participants will receive a free eye exam from Dr. Parag Bagad, a vitreoretinal surgeon from Shree Eye Clinic, as well as a free tattoo from artist Manisha Todi of Radhana Arts.


    In Swami Shrikanthanand president of shri ram krishna arogya sansthan vivekanand anjaneri felicitated the runners by giving medals and started the event with shankhnad and flagoff.


    The majority of dignitaries attended this ceremony, and among them was Mr. Vikrant Akolkar, Director of Ashoka CCA. Anirudhh Athani, Pankaj Ghuge, Anil Thorat, Executive Engineer Nilesh Chalikwar, MSEDCL, and his team are the athletes' coaches. SMBT Hospital Dean Dr. Meenal Mogankar, Dr. Nehete from Vedant Hospital, Retired Col. Shashidharan, Shri Maruti Maddewad, additional Director investigation Incometax), and Shri Vishal A. Makawane, Addl.commissioner Central Range-Incometax have successfully run with runners and various private companies such as Suma soft PVt Ltd, WNS, wisdom assets- Ved Arya and Team, Mylon, ja Pink Run participants Needa Mobin Kadri and her team took part.


    Event organiser Panash Team Poonam Sharrma: Sheetal, Nilima, and Madhu SMRK College students Monalisa Jain, Priti, Zumba Madhuri, and Praneta Nikumbh participated in Team as volunteers. This event has been organised by Vivek Nair, Mayur Sonawane, Jayesh, and Yogesh from Decathlon Team store manager Nikhil G.
